“I ain’t ever been to Africa before. Do y’all think they will let us into Wakanda?” Bryan’s date questioned, patting her blue and blonde weave. She had been beating on her head ever since we boarded the plane, and that was six hours ago. I was pretty sure that if she didn’t stop, she would end up with a concussion from how hard she was hitting it.

We all turned toward one another, wondering if she was serious or trying to be funny. When I noticed how serious she looked, I knew it was the latter.

“Wakanda is not real, sweetie. It’s a fictional place in a movie,” Tori responded, holding back her laughter.

She furrowed her brows in confusion. “You mean to tell me that I won’t be seeing any chocolate Wakanda men with nothing on but a towel covering their dicks?”

We all gave her a look of disbelief. I refused to believe that anyone was this clueless. From what I could tell, she was a sweet girl, but she didn’t have much going on upstairs, if you know what I mean.

“Please tell me that this girl is not this damn dumb. I knew Bryan didn’t have any real standards, but damn, I didn’t know they was this low. She better be lucky she is cute, or nobody would want her ass,” Tori tried to mumble in the seat behind me, but I still heard her.

I guess Ron was fed up with her because he turned to address her, then he snapped. “Aye, shawty, we have been listening to you say stupid shit for the last couple of hours. If you ain’t got anything intelligent to say, then do all of us a favor and shut the fuck up for the rest of the flight,” he spat, turning back around to face the front.

She looked over at Bryan for help, but he wasn’t paying her any attention. He was too busy playing a game on the flatscreen with Justin. “You ain’t gon’ say anything to your friend about the way he spoke to me?” she questioned with a look of sheer embarrassment plastered all over her face.

“Shit, he didn’t say anything wrong. I told you before we left to not say anything, and only speak when spoken to, but you didn’t listen,” He said, still focused on the game.

She folded her arms against her chest and sunk in the seat, wearing a scowl. I felt sorry for her.

“That wasn’t nice, Ron. You didn’t have to call her out like that,” I said, elbowing him in the side.

“What I do?” he responded like he didn’t just embarrass this girl in front of everybody. “Y’all was thinking the same shit too; the only difference was I just said it out loud,” he stated with a shrug, going back to watching Sports Center on his phone.

I giggled while shaking my head, looking out the window. With me doing so much traveling for work now, I was no longer scared of flying. If anything, I found it therapeutic when gazing out at the clouds as they floated the blue sky.
